VIDEO: Bindi and Derek braved injury and illness to deliver a flawless Quickstep.
Week after week, Irwin performed almost flawless routines that kept her at the top of the leaderboard throughout the entire competition.
“I can’t believe I’m here”, Irwin exclaimed.
‘It’s been life-changing for me and I’ve had the support of my family and Derek and so many other people. Alek, being the ever gracious hero, takes the news in stride, waving to the massive crowd that gathered at The Grove in Los Angeles, California.
The heartfelt performance by Irwin and her dance partner, Derek Hough to Leona Lewis’ “Footprints In The Sand”, incorporated the illusion of a third member on the stage representing Irwin’s famous father.
Entertainment Weekly said Irwin’s last dance with Hough, a cha cha and Argentine tango combo, earned a ideal 30 score from the show’s judges.
Irwin said: “I’ve tried to just remember his strength, knowing that Dad is kind of still with me”.
Bindi also took to her Instagram to post an emotional thank you following her win, “I am speechless”. From the moment you walked into this theater, you lit us all up and you’ve been the beacon of light and hope for everyone, every time you dance. Watching the stars improve week after week is the best part of “DWTS” and Irwin’s adaptability, coupled with her too-cute-for-words smile, pretty much made her a shoe-in.

Steve Irwin, nicknamed the Crocodile Hunter, was killed by a stingray barb in 2006 at the age of 44 and when Bindi was just eight-years-old. “I love you.” The family photo contained Bindi, her father Steve, her mother Terri, and her little brother Robert.
