Bipartisan Gov’t Funding Bill ‘Opposite Of What I Campaigned For’

Republicans fully plan to move forward on a short-term funding bill without a DACA deal or resolution.

Trump is also seeding the ground with pre-emptive messaging that blames Democrats for any shutdown.

In other words, everyone has a strong incentive to ignore the hardliners and do this. They also are considering attaching legislation that would reauthorize the Children’s Health Insurance Program, the person said. The shutdown lasted for 16 days, triggered by a disagreement over Obamacare.

A shutdown, however, doesn’t mean every federally funded agency, program and service will grind to a halt.

Keep in mind on this: Should House Republicans pass their short-term spending bill, it’s a very, very tough vote for Senate Democrats. As for Schachtner, we don’t know much about her…except, no joke, that she appeared on the ABC show Wife Swap about ten years ago. Which is why tweets from President Donald Trump insisting that “Democrats want to shut down the Government over Amnesty for all and Border Security” won’t work.

An immigration reform activist says the Democrats will pay a political price if they force a government shutdown over DACA.

Rep. Bill Flores (R-TX), said, “I can’t swear to it, but the tone sounds pretty good”.

“The president is saying, ‘I’ll sign it if they agree to a deal, ‘” said Gingrich. A previous impeachment resolution from Green attracted the support of only 58 members of the Democratic caucus, with 126 Democrats and 264 Republicans opposed, when it came to a vote last month.

Why? There are three reasons.

“He (Trump) is anxious that Democrats’ unwillingness to actually put country ahead of their party is what’s stalling things from moving forward, whether it’s the budget or whether it’s a deal on DACA”, Sanders said.

Second, you can not overstate the impact of the President’s “shithole” comments on the caucus – it has hardened resolve and unified the group around the idea the President would get the blame.

“It is the intransigence of so many who say don’t talk, don’t negotiate, it’s my way or the highway” that has led to this point, said Schumer of NY. “There is literally something to vote on to avoid this”.

“I think the Democrats have a huge problem” In states such as North Dakota, Montana, Indiana, Missouri, or West Virginia, which voted for Trump, Gingrich told Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom”. Democrats said they’re still unlikely to support the measure without an agreement on immigration. According to data compiled by Daily Kos Elections, there have been 44 state house elections and 24 state Senate elections in which a Democrat and Republican nominee were pitted against each other since Trump won – in addition to the one US Senate and 5 US House elections of this nature that got much more national coverage. If Democrats withhold their votes on a spending deal, Ryan will have to convince both defense hawks and the conservative House Freedom Caucus to vote on yet another short-term spending deal. Are Democrats going to vote against that, too? “We’ve got to spell it out”, Walker said.

Republicans have enough votes to push a measure through the House if they stay largely united. Democrats are. Trump is responsible for putting DACA in limbo, but he will be on solid ground claiming Democrats caused the shutdown, and could end it at any time. Especially now that the government is taking renewal applications again. President Trump may believe himself a master showman and salesman who can manipulate the American people, but a shutdown could turn those people against him in a short period of time. It has to happen, whether it’s now or later.
