Birmingham boy Troy Deeney delights in piling on misery for beleaguered Aston

The Nigerian worldwide netted the opener of the Hornets’ 3-2 victory over Aston Villa which was his eighth of the season while Deeney headed home the visitors’ decisive third. I am going to go with Aston Villa though to get a much needed win. He was not offered terms.

Villa came out to grab the equaliser but Watford goalkeeper Gomis was solid between the post.

“He is not playing at the weekend and at this stage, I think that is enough”. They have lost 10 times in that sequence and are thus winless at Villa Park in six league matches (D2).

“I am very happy, I’m very pleased with the performance of the players”, Flores told the BBC after the final whistle at Villa Park. “I am not expecting an easy game because Watford have done well”, Garde said.

“I have some possibilities so I will have a look [at making changes], but I don’t know for the moment”, said Garde.

“I knew people in both ends and some of them messaged me before the game and said: “Today we’re not friends”, and that’s fine with me – but we will go to the bar now and say hello and go back to normal”.

“We don’t class them as mates”.

“But I scored and we won so it was a bad weekend for them”.

Troy Deeney attracted the headlines, as well as the venom of the Aston Villa fans, but Watford team-mate Odion Ighalo was equally instrumental in piling on the misery for the Premier League’s bottom club.

“Jack has got a lot of ability but he needs to improve his game and work at it”. Villa play well against good teams, like Man City, and play badly against poor teams, like Watford. The Watford manager also praised Deeney’s character.

He was then seen out again in Birmingham on Sunday night, when the players were due in for training the following morning, and has since been disciplined by being asked to train with the club’s Under-21s.

‘He’s an unbelievable boy, an awesome player, and his attitude on the pitch is an example for other players’. “Their fans gave me stick all the way through. you should have heard what the crowd were saying to me, but I am thick-skinned and can take it, and am more interested in taking three points”.
