A huge political storm has been triggered by Dayashankar Singh’s offensive remark concerning Mayawati, and this has shown up as colossal protests made by the Bahujan Samajvadi Party workers on Thursday morning.
The Chief Minister also took a dig at the two-time alliance between the BJP and the BSP and said that since Raksha Bandhan was round the corner, the two outfits should patch up.
An FIR has been filed by suspended BJP lawmaker Dayashankar Singh’s family against BSP supremo Mayawati accusing her of intimidation and promoting enmity.
Raj Bhawan sources said that Singh has sought an appointment with Governor Ram Naik tomorrow. On one hand the Prime Minister Narendra Modi gives slogan like ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, ‘ and on the other hand, the BJP leader makes such crude remark comparing Mayawati to a prostitute.
Aside from Singh’s mother filing a complaint against the mob, Swati told ANI that she wanted Protection of children from sexual offenses (POCSO) Act to be imposed on Mayawati and Siddiqui for harassing her daughter with abusive remarks.
Responding to the comments, she called it an attack on women and dalits. Singh was last seen in Gorakhpur on Wednesday and may have gone underground, she said.
The district administration in Lucknow asked BSP leaders to hold their demonstration at the designated “dharna sthal” in the state capital and not in Hazratganj where the BJP state headquarters is located.
Singh’s 12-year-old daughter reportedly went into a mental shock after the protests.
The party also quickly sacked Mr Singh and ordered him to apologise.

The expelled BJP leader’s wife has lodged an FIR against Mayawati and Siddiqui. “Then they would have won my heart”, she said. “Mayawati ji is an iron lady of BSP, using such derogatory remarks can not be tolerated”, she said.
