Earlier in the day the striking employees of the three MCDs had dumped garbage outside the residence of Transport Minister Gopal Rai.
“The government is doing nothing”.
The mayors and the Delhi BJP chief also urged the striking employees of municipal corporations to end their strike in the larger interest of people and added that they will continue with their efforts to meet their demands.
The workers have threatened to go on indefinite strike if the fund is not released.
On Sunday, hundreds of AAP activists took to the streets and cleaned up garbage in many parts of the capital.
Maken also targeted the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre for picking the “already smart” New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) area under “Smart City” project while ignoring the municipal corporations.
The municipal workers have been on strike since January 27 to demand that their salaries be paid regularly, that they receive arrears accumulated over the years and that their jobs be regularised.
Mr Kejriwal and his wife came to the institute in the afternoon and they would be staying in an accommodation called “Nest”, institute sources said.
“It is clear that 90 percent of the non-planned allocation is for payment of salaries, then why the MCD employees have not been paid their salaries?” it asked.
Meanwhile the politics over the Municipal workers protests heat up between BJP and ruling Aam Aadmi party, with both blaming each other for the civic crisis. Kapil Mishra alleged that this whole protest was triggered by Bharatiya Janata Party who wanted to malign AAP’s image but had failed spectacularly. He said the government is looking for a “permanent solution” to the problem.

He said the Delhi High Court had directed the police to provide security and extra labourers had been deployed with the trucks.
