The party’s women wing staged a protest outside Mr Sharma’s residence, while its social media team launched a campaign against both the BJP and the MLA.

“If BJP has some sense of respect for women, then it should immediately suspend him”, she added.

Escalating its attack on the BJP and Mr Sharma, the AAP used all platforms to voice its protest.

Ruling party MLAs refused to allow the House to function till strict action was initiated against Sharma.

AAP MLA Alka Lamba, who had raised the issue on Monday as well, joined the argument.

Delhi Assembly Speaker Ramniwas Goel yesterday suspended Sharma till Thursday for using derogatory language against the Chandani Chowk MLA during a discussion on night shelters.

It has been tasked with submitting a report before the commencement of the next session of the 70-member legislature.

The MLA is being arrested for a rioting case that happened in 2013 in Adarsh Nagar.

“Even today, he came late and did not attend the proceeding”.

“In these circumstances, there is no option for this court but to take accused Akhilesh Tripathi in the judicial custody till next date of hearing so that his appearance could be secured and the present case be tried as per the directions of the Supreme Court”, the court said.

The amendments were made to Sections 3, 4, 5, 7, 9 and 10 of Act 11 of the Minimum Wages Act, 1948. Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra in Thursday proposed the same. The Bill is under consideration in the Assembly.
