BJP suspends Kirti Azad for taking on Jaitley
Kejriwal had alleged that the CBI raid on his office, apparently in connection with a corruption investigation against an officer working with him, was really aimed at “removing” vital papers connected with the DDCA scam. “I will also ask margdarshak mandal to come forward and look into the issue”, Azad told reporters here. “I supported d (the) Govt. stand in Parliament & wish to inform my party BJP spokespersons that no one can speak w/o (without) Speaker’s permission”, he said in another tweet.

However, BJP sources said it was not him raising the issue of corruption in the DDCA that invited trouble, but him speaking on the matter in Parliament, even making allusions to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
Meanwhile, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy has confirmed that he would assist Azad in replying to the notice.
While his letter to Shah on Friday didn’t sound confrontationist, the suspended BJP MP has indicated that he continue his battle against “DDCA corruption” and sought to confirm from BJP president that DDCA Corruption falls out of the purview of BJP.
“There has not been a single instance of blemish in my association with BJP which has given me every opportunity to work within the party constitution”.
Simultaneously, four party veterans – Lal Krishna Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Shanta Kumar and Yashwant Sinha – have met to discuss Azad’s suspension.
Thursday’s was not a meeting of the Mandal but of the veterans who also took a stand widely seen as critical of Modi and Shah after the BJP’s huge defeat in the November assembly polls in Bihar.
The BJP central leadership was very angry with Azad for reportedly turning down Shah’s request to not take up the DDCA issue further. Swamy has filed the Herald case accusing Sonia Gandhi and Rahul of financial irregularities, leading to allegations from Congress that it was orchestrated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Jaitley. “I have no intention of embarrassment or indulge in anti party activities(sic)”, Mr Azad has told the party chief.
He said Jaitley was a man of integrity and clean public image and the attack on him was due to political reasons.

“Modi used to say “na khaoonga, na khaney doonga” (will not engage in corruption myself, nor will allow others)”. The question that we ask of the Finance Minister is whether he is now ready to walk-the-talk.
