He said Congress is committed to reviving and running National Herald, a newspaper established in 1938 by Jawaharlal Nehru. Seeking to draw a parallel between the protests after a court ruling against Indira Gandhi in 1975 by Congress following which the Emergency was clamped and now over the Herald case, he said “now Congress seems to be back to its old tricks”.

He alleges that, through a series of debt and equity deals, a shell company that Sonia and Rahul controlled acquired property worth about $300 million after paying just $75,000.

Asking the party workers to unite and fight the next year’s assembly polls, Rahul said, ” All the good works in last 15 years will be undone, violence will be back if congress does not come to power in Assam”.
