Black activists protest in US Midwest
A large protest that started at the Mall of America quickly migrated Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, to Minneapolis-St.

A mile away earlier in the day, scores of protesters assembled inside Minneapolis’ Mall of America, but police in riot gear and mall security officers dispersed the crowd, pushing them outside the shopping center.
Three were arrested for trespassing and one was arrested for trespassing and disorderly conduct, the Bloomington Police said.
On Wednesday a flood of Black Lives Matter protesters filled the Mall of America in Minneapolis, demanding action in the case of a man fatally shot by police during a confrontation in November.
The mall issued warnings that “this demonstration is not authorized” and that “those who fail to leave the property immediately will be subject to arrest” before police began escorting people out of the building.
Protesters were met inside the mall by police and security guards. A siren announced that the mall was closed and instructed shoppers to “seek shelter”, prompting many stores to close their gates.
Access to one of two terminals was closed after more than 100 protesters gathered inside and blocked roads leading to the airport Wednesday, airport spokesman Patrick Hogan said.
Meanwhile, California Highway Patrol said it arrested nine female protesters blocking southbound traffic on the 101 freeway near the San Francisco International Airport on Wednesday. “I think it was really effective”.
The protest took place despite the mall’s attempts to get a court order to block it. A judge said she lacked the power to prevent Black Lives Matter from protesting as a group, or the ban individuals not associated with the group from joining the demonstration on their own.
Dayton told reporters that he sympathizes with protesters’ concerns, but he stressed that the mall is private property.
“There will be no business as usual until we get accountability for our dead, and justice for the living”, the group said.
“Our No. 1 priority is the safety of everybody out at the Mall of America today”, he said Wednesday morning.
“They talk about this demonstration as being disruptive”, Seratoff said. In addition, they want federal terrorism charges to be brought against four men who shot at protesters outside a Minneapolis police precinct last month, injuring five.
“We are a leader-full organization”, said Kandace Montgomery, one of three organizers barred by the judge’s order on Tuesday. “That’s the only way that they’ll hear us”.

“The music that we are making these days is actually helping spread that word, the Black Lives Matters movement”, the 38-year old CTE World executive says. “My mom is a little bit annoyed, but she’s going to see me this holiday season”.
