Best Buy: The company will likely roll out their Black Friday deals in the wee hours Thanksgiving Day. The store announced it will remain open all day Thursday and will not close until 10 p.m. Friday evening. There are obvious downsides to purchasing your items on the internet like slower delivery times, stock issues and more, but it’s actually the best way to do it according to market analysts which warn of the large influx of people.
That said, there is still plenty going on with the yearly Black Friday shopping tradition set to blow the doors off most retailers on Friday.
“The one thing I notice, anything they have on sale they usually continue to have on sale”, she said.
It is Thanksgiving which not only means turkey but one of the biggest shopping days of the year. Consumers are increasingly doing their holiday shopping online (46% of consumers plan to do their holiday shopping online this year), and online ads are a major part of the newspaper digital offering.
Stores aren’t just starting their sales earlier, but stretching them out.
But with the right planning and research, shopping on Black Friday doesn’t have to be scary.

The trade group’s survey said 184 million people would shop this year on Cyber Monday. They will open at 8 A.M. EST on Black Friday. Many have opted to combine Black Friday and Cyber Monday (30 November) into one, four-day event.
Remember the days when Black Friday sales actually started on Friday? Not surprisingly, stuff tends to run out when the deals get good.
T.J. Martin, owner of T.J.’s Fine Jewelry in Carbondale, said his store is closed on Thanksgiving, because it’s a time for employees to be with their families.
“I would never get involved with that mess”, she said. “You just need to be watchful”.
A small minority of retailers, though, have gone against the trend and chosen to keep their doors shut on Thanksgiving, or even on Black Friday. “We’re all mom and pop shops, indie or independent shops, so for most of us, family comes first”.
