A shooter wounded one person who was left with non-life threatening injuries outside an Alexandria, La., mall on Thursday night, but local authorities quickly determined the attack had nothing to do with Black Friday.

The Dolphin Mall will be open until 11 p.m Friday.
Hari Abburu and his son Saran, 8, said he made two trips Friday morning to the mall to search for bargains.

But in recent years, retailers have tried to capture holiday sales earlier and earlier, opening their stores the last few years during the formerly off-limits family holiday itself.

“We work really closely with our retailers to make sure that they’re just ready to go and everybody’s excited, overcaffeinated too to make sure we’re settled in for a long day”, Keating said. He had purchased seven dress shirts and a Belk associated informed him while checking out that he had saved $104.

“I think that everyone was a little more hesitant this morning, a little more anxious about the black ice and things we’ve been hearing in the news”, Knox said.
