While some demonstrations have been peaceful others have sparked violence towards police officers including the fatal shooting in Dallas last week.

From the Wichita Police Department’s account, Officer A.M. Moses tweeted the evening away, sharing photos of he and community members who attended the event – evening giving us a look at his “Whip and Nae Nae”.
“If officers feel they want that for emotional support” it is being approved, he said. “It’s got everyone just a little more concerned”.
The Wichita Eagle (http://bit.ly/29Okple ) reports that organizers of the protest met with Police Chief Gordon Ramsay for several hours, ending with an agreement for the barbecue, which took place Sunday at McAdams Park.
The protest comes after the recent fatal police shootings of Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Philando Castile in Falcon Heights, Minnesota. “We didn’t clog up the judicial system with a bunch of arrests”, says Ramsay.
Ramsay said he plans to meet Wednesday with the God Squad – a coalition of local pastors – and other community leaders.
The barbecue is an opportunity for police and citizens to interact and have “positive contact, not face-to-face on a skirmish line”, Ramsay said. We downed over 2,000 hamburgers and hot dogs, built relationships, laughed, cried, and danced.
