Black Lives Matter Buffalo Hold First Public Meeting

In the runup to the 1988 Seoul Olympics, poor people, including small children and disabled people, were rounded up and shipped to forced labor camps where they were subjected to routine rape and murder. And it’s really just about doing whatever we can. Why and how is the government spending billions on our national defense, yet our populace and police feel personally threatened, by each other and not foreign terrorists? According to one attorney, “The judge has the right in any circumstance that they think that some issue or matter will be disruptive to the court or a distraction to the court, they can ask that individual to remove that object”. “Anti-Black violence is global and our resistance is global”. The human rights organization also reports police killings in Rio skyrocketed to 40 percent during the 2014 World Cup soccer tournament.

‘It’s the issue of poverty … not just the police.

Some would like us to believe that events like these signal a war between social justice factions, between Black Lives Matter and Blue Lives Matter, between law-abiding citizens and criminals.

Considering that the bulk of the major sports leagues are populated by African-American athletes, it’s likely only more will get involved, and recently New York Knicks star Anthony wrote a column in The Guardian urging more athletes to do just that. Why are they even out patrolling streets like the military does in areas of insurrection?

But that is not what we are saying to police officers.

The movement continues to grow more widespread with the deaths and aggressive violence exhibited by some white police officers to black individuals around the country.

I contacted two American experts last week to better ascertain what the 1964 Freedom School movement was all about and whether it has any connection – either as far as the curriculum or the rationale is concerned — to the one initiated this summer by a member of BLM Toronto, LeRoi Newbold. Over eight and a half minutes, Clarke launched a litany of messages that galvanized the crowd there, making him the latest example of how white conservatism uses black people as props to justify their values.
