‘Black Panther’ Chadwick Boseman hints at grittier Marvel movie
We are still nearly two years away from Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther movie, but we already got a very good look at the character in Captain America: Civil War over the summer.

In an interview with CBR.com, Boseman – who plays T’Challa and his costumed alter ego – explains that fans should expect a different kind of Marvel movie.
He also stated that he likes amusing superhero movies but gravitates towards the films that have a “darker superhero”.
“So I’m very happy to not be on Ant-Man”.
“Im glad that the tone of (Black Panther) may be a little grittier. That that’s what I intend to do”, said Boseman. I love Ant-Man! But for me, the darkest superhero movies are those about which I runs much. Those are the ones I like the most. “It’s exciting to do that”. “That that’s what we were doing”, says Boseman about the style of the film and how the story will be told in a more serious manner.
The most intriguing part of Boseman’s reveal, though (other than that he loved the otherwise widely “quite liked ” Ant-Man)? He’s not going to be a person that does things purely for his own gain. And Black Panther? According to star Chadwick Boseman, it’ll fall on the “darker” and “grittier” side of things. That he does have a heroic aspect at the heart of a hero; of a leader.
You can get Captain America: Civil War in digital HD now. “And it leaves room also for him to do things that are not necessarily flawless”.
A Nation Under Our Feet Volume 1 is filled with complex characters, conflicting political opinions, and stylish action, and whether you’re a fan of the character or have never been interested a day in your life, this book is worthy of your time. It’s going to be a big deal because there’s not just Black people or people of African descent that want to see it, I think everybody wants to see it.

Making Black Panther grittier, in other words, makes a lot of sense both when considering his comic-book origins, and in terms of opening up the on-screen T’Challa’s character to new and complex emotional beats and characterization.
