BlackBerry has had a odd few years but the company has now inadvertently revealed details of what looks to be an attractive Android-powered smartphone.

According to a report in the Korea Herald ahead of its launch event, a major ding against Blackberry’s re-emergence in the Korean mobile market is its choice to go with the Priv, which came out in the U.S.in November and was a flop partly because of its high price tag.

The launch of the PRIV smartphone in the Korean market came as foreign smartphone makers, such as Japan’s Sony and China’s Huawei, are seeking to gain market shares in the country’s medium-range smartphone market.

BlackBerry has faced calls to stop making smartphones because of disappointing sales and instead focus on its growing software business. The latest to join the list is BlackBerry’s DTEK60.

The BlackBerry DTEK60 will have a Snapdragon 820 chipset present under the hood. The rear camera will be a 21MP unit with auto-focus while on the front you will be getting an 8MP selfie snapper with fixed-focus. Most likely, BlackBerry will install 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage, and a microSD card slot is very likely to be offered, just like on the DTEK50. Speculations suggest that the BlackBerry DTEK60 will resemble the BlackBerry DTEK50 in terms of its looks.

And what’s also interesting is that the DTEK60 could also come with a fingerprint sensor that would add to the security that BlackBerry has been praising so much for these models, but for the moment no other specifics are available. Given the name of the file it seems that BlackBerry didn’t want the public to see the information quite yet. As this new smartphone is devoid of a physical QWERTY keypad, BlackBerry fans might face slight disappointment. It’s selling the BlackBerry Priv which is the first Android-powered handset BlackBerry ever made.
