BlackBerry Phone Touts Security
It had a big, handsome display, a high-megapixel camera, and a slide out keyboard that evoked BlackBerry’s heyday. It’s listed with a $429 CAD price tag. Priv was the very first android handset launched by Blackberry. Prices would be lower, specs would be good, security would be paramount. BlackBerry also highlighted that the DTEK 50 exclusively manufactured by the company, therefore eliminating possible third-party flaws.

Just yesterday the BlackBerry DTEK50 was unveiled. BlackBerry touts it as the most secure Android smartphone, and there is no evidence that an attack is equally likely on DTEK50.
The Blackberry DTEK50 features a 5.2-inch display and 1080p screen resolution.
Though BlackBerry had its own messenger BBM much before WhatsApp, the porting of the app to android proved to be a failure because of poor timing when it was launched.
The BlackBerry DTEK50 runs Android and is motorized by a 2610mAh non detachable battery.
DTEK50 can now be pre-ordered for $299.00 at BlackBerry.com until August 8.
While the smartphone domain continues to get more and more competitive, BlackBerry’s attempts to revive its image haven’t paid off yet. “With DTEK50, you don’t have to worry about this happening to you.” . Alphabet has also been beefing up Android’s security features with every release, which could tiresome the DTEK50’s competitive edge. Though specific sales of the Priv are unknown, BlackBerry’s most recent quarterly results indicate that total BlackBerry sales amount to less than 500,000, with this number also including devices that utilize the company’s BlackBerry 10 (BB10) operating system. There are others, too, such as Motorola’s G4 Plus ($249), which easily eclipse the DTEK50 in both design and features. We secure the world’s most sensitive data across all end points – from cars to smartphones – making the mobile-first enterprise vision a reality. The app has been created to allow users to be aware of their smartphone’s security capabilities.
It’s the safety aspects which will really be gripping many people’s attention though. The phone is available in US, Canada, and a few European countries right now, and we’re hoping that it will come to the Indian shores soon. And we think its stock price has almost unlimited room to run for early in-the-know investors!
Couple that to the BlackBerry’s reputation for coming up with security patches faster than anybody else and the DTEK50 is easily one of the safest handsets around. However, as the times are changing, devices like Android and Apple are also adopting this security focused realm. “It’s equally important for businesses to protect their sensitive data from cyberattacks at all points of their mobile environment – from the device to the network and servers”.

It’s the phone’s DTEK security software and monthly security update strategy, one that no other Android manufacturer has adopted, that are its main draw.
