BlackBerry Priv android smartphone now available for pre-order; price starts
BlackBerry fans can now preorder the Priv from selected regions across the globe, including the U.S., U.K, Germany and the home-country Canada.

Earlier this week BlackBerry might have jumped the gun as the Priv went on for pre-order only to be pulled, now though the company has officially started taking pre-orders for its first Android-powered smartphone.
The first notable aspect of the new BlackBerry PRIV is the price – it is steeper than base flagships from Apple and Samsung, which are top of the line and hard to top in terms of popularity and specs.
Speaking of which, BlackBerry Priv is now available for pre-order in the United States for $700 and for $900 CAD in Canada.
“Priv will be the solution for smartphone users who are learning daily of the lack of privacy they have on their current devices”. It also has a very interesting form factor, sporting a physical keyboard and a sliding design, which should make the BlackBerry Priv a potential hit between fans and not only.
While BlackBerry Priv seems to be running near stock Android OS, the canadian smartphone major has added its own software to the mix.
On the back, it has an 18 MP Schneider-Kreuznach camera, with optical image stabilization and able to shoot 4K videos, while on the front it relies on a 2 MP snapper.
The oddly-named BlackBerry Priv (short for privacy, we think), is the company’s debut into the full-fat world of Android.

Finally the BlackBerry Priv will only work on AT&T and T-Mobile and carriers such as US Cellular, Verizon and Sprint are said to not be compatible with the device. Lastly, the handset comes equipped with 32 GB of in-built storage option, along with microSD card slot for further expansion of up to 2 TB.
