BlackBerry Priv release date: Certified by Bluetooth SIG, indicating imminent
The disclosure is highly noteworthy, especially since a few previous leaks have hinted that the BlackBerry PRIV will feature a sliding keyboard which will apparently remain hidden in most situations. The new CEO of the company has been working hard in the past year to get the BlackBerry smartphone division back into the game.

He further added that because of the company’s failure to meet the targeted profit gains, the company has now decide to sell five million Smartphones a year, so that company can achieve their target of getting good profit figures, while if the company fails to do that they might have to take an exit from the Smartphone business. TechRadar reported that the BlackBerry Priv will be an Android powerhouse with a Safeguard app that keeps the phone secure. As per these leaks, the display of PRIV has a subtle curve to it on the sides. Most likely, the handset will run on Android 5.1 Lollipop, but there’s a distinct possibility of it being the first non-Nexus smartphone to come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
Furthermore, the Reddit user has also revealed that the software of BlackBerry PRIV handset is snappy as well as smooth; and it has full access to the Google Play Store.
Since the core customer base of enterprise and government wouldn’t be able to sustain the company, it seems that focusing on the hardware business may not make all that sense after all. As you would expect, the BlackBerry Priv will feature everything from a QHD screen down to a powerful processor, in an effort to draw in customers who are not content with the current smartphone offerings. Rumored specs include an Adreno 418 GPU, an 18MP rear camera, and 3GB RAM. The front camera will be a 5 MP wide-angle sensor.

In short, sell or be sold off is the ultimatum BlackBerry has put itself. Meanwhile, on Thursday, BlackBerry CEO John Chen confirmed that the BlackBerry Priv would be a high end smartphone.
