A device like this would appeal to an underserved niche and help coax some of the folks clinging onto their aging BlackBerry devices into the courageous, new Android-powered BlackBerry world.

The Passport isn’t a “slider”, of course, and this is nearly certainly an unofficial mockup (the screenshot doesn’t line up properly with the display).
On a side note, we noticed that the BlackBerry 10 operating system was able to download Android apps from the Amazon App Store.
BlackBerry a few days ago was in rumors to introduce a smartphone with a custom Android version running on it; now we are looking at a leaked image that could be the upcoming smartphone. It features a physical keyboard along the bottom, however that is what looks to be an on-screen keyboard as well. The handset’s display – possibly a 5.4-inch one – is curved on the right and left sides, similar to the screen of the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge. Recently company CEO John Chen was happy to say that they would build an Android device if it could be made secure.
The image is cut off, so it’s not possible to really tell what the device looks like. It’s stated to be powered by a sixty four-bit 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexacore processor and 3GB RAM.
If the Venice does arrive with Android – rumored to be coming to AT&T – it won’t be the first tie-in with Google’s mobile platform.

As slick as the new BlackBerry Venice renders may be, you’ll want to take it with a grain of salt until we see something official.
