Blackhawks acquire Ladd in trade with Jets
On Thursday, Ladd has been traded to the Blackhawks in exchange for a first-round pick and prospect Marko Dano. Winnipeg also sent defenseman Jay Harrison and winger Matt Fraser to the Blackhawks in the deal. In 34 games with the AHL Rockford IceHogs, the former Columbus Blue Jacket First Round Draft Pick had 4 goals and 19 assists for 23 points and a plus 17 ranking.

As one of the better upcoming unrestricted free agents this summer, Ladd has been one of the highest profile names bandied about as the trade deadline approached. It’s a major addition for the Blackhawks as they prepare to enter the Stanley Cup playoffs in the next few months.
Ladd began his career with the Carolina Hurricanes, with whom he won the Cup in 2006.
Ladd doesn’t figure to serve in a starring role for the Blackhawks, but he’ll likely benefit from a move to a much more potent Chicago top-six group.

The Jets, meanwhile, land a nice haul for their future. He played 13 games for Chicago, scoring one goal. In five seasons with the franchise, Ladd amassed 122 goals and 271 points in 370 games. Harrison, 33, played 35 games for the Jets last season.
