Blake Shelton is in for an “awkward” night at the Country Music Association Awards next month because he is sure his divorce from Miranda Lambert will be part of co-hosts Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood’s comedy monologue.

Blake Shelton has finally opened up about his divorce from wife Miranda Lambert during a guest appearance on Tuesday’s episode of “Late Night With Seth Meyers”.
“There’s gotta be one about me and Miranda”, Shelton said. I’m like, “Oh my God, I’m totally going to push this girl around with my insane wit”. Blake Shelton describes Rihanna as a talented and smart person. I never could get the upper hand with her. I was trying to get her to be a bit flirty, I mean, why not? “I know it’s coming”.
Both country singers have remained friendly towards one another in social media and the former couple are focusing on their careers with Shelton busy with “The Voice”.
Shelton and Lambert were a staple at the CMAs, attending the show together every year since 2007, but this will be the first time they arrive solo.

Blake Shelton knows that this year’s Country Music Awards are going to be an awkward affair.
Meanwhile, Shelton has been joking about mixing business with pleasure, suggesting toVoice key mentor Rihanna they make celebrity couple “Blihanna” happen. It airs November 4 on ABC.

Much like higher-profile award shows, CMA hosts don’t look much further than the members of their audience for quippy fodder, which is heightened because of the intimacy between the nominees. Do you think that they will come up with a few great jokes for Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert?
