Miranda Lambert got emotional during a concert when singing a song she cowrote with ex-husband Blake Shelton.

The Gunpowder & Lead singer reportedly chose to record the song because of Blake’s overly emotional connection to the song.

The 32-year-old singer was onstage at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in Tinley Park, Illinois, on Friday (29Jul16) when she began to belt out her 2012 single, Over You.

Elsewhere in her IL concert set, Lambert got choked up again during “The House That Built Me”.

Shelton, who is now dating former No Doubt front lady Gwen Stefani, compared the break-up of his marriage to that of Stefani’s and her ex, Gavin Rossdale, who had an affair with the family’s nanny.

Lambert reportedly relied on the crowd who sang along and filled in the gaps she missed while being overcome with emotions. I told you I was a mess, thanks for that’. Accepting the flaws and celebrating the smiles.

Did Blake Shelton just throw shade at Miranda Lambert after admitting that Gwen Stefani saved his broken heart? Facing fears and feelings.

The 40-year-old singer previously admitted he wished he could have gone “into a coma” during his split from Miranda.

The pair made their red carpet debut earlier this year at the Academy Of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas.
