‘Blame Chance’: Kanye West Explains ‘Life of Pablo’ Album Delay

The rapper’s daughter North was seen at the event in Madison Square Garden getting down to dad’s new album Life Of Pablo.

In a series of tweets, Chance corroborated West’s claims that he was holding up The Life of Pablo’s release.

Rolling Stone reported that in a follow-up tweet (now removed) West “revealed that “30 Hours” was a last-minute, pre-mastering addition to The Life of Pablo as that album’s track list ballooned from the 10 songs…to 17 in total”.

Standing in front of a large screen of video game-style clouds (from the new project dedicated to his mother, perhaps?) and with one fist raised in the air, West started with auto-tune heavy “High Lights”. The album is exclusively available for purchase on his website now, as he announced after his second performance on SNL.

“I fought everyone to keep Waves on the album”.

Kanye is the next big name since Beyonce to use Jay-Z’s subscription-based streaming service as a launching point for his new music.

Referencing how he’s changed since his first album College Dropout was released in 2004 it talks about “old Kanye”, “new Kanye”, “always rude Kanye” and how fans miss the “sweet Kanye”. However, Chance fought for “Waves” to be included on the album.

Sunday’s release follows Kanye’s abstract appearance on SNL, where he dropped at least one f-bomb and multiple utterances of the n-word during “Highlights”.
