The House passed a short-term spending bill Thursday night, but the bill lacks enough votes to pass in the Senate. He noted Trump’s tweet in which he said CHIP should not be part of the short-term funding bill.

About 21 percent said President Donald Trump is to blame, 26 percent said Senate Republicans are responsible, and 31 percent said Congressional Democrats would be responsible for a shutdown. The only bipartisan DACA bill in the Senate was tossed aside by Republican leadership earlier in the week.
