In the deadliest bombing ever on Turkish soil, 103 people were killed and more than 500 wounded in twin suicide bombings targeting a pro-Kurdish peace rally in Ankara in October past year.
A suspected bomb blast struck the crowded heart of Ankara on Sunday evening, strewing debris and setting a bus and cars on fire as emergency services responded.
Several vehicles were destroyed or damaged in the explosion, local media said.
It also occurred two days after the U.S. Embassy issued a security warning about a potential plot to attack Turkish government buildings and housing in one Ankara neighborhood and asked its citizens to avoid those areas.
An explosion killed at least five people Sunday in the Turkish capital of Ankara, according to Reuters, which cited the country’s Dogan news agency.
