Blast rocks Tianjin, 2 months after fatal explosion
The fireball from another chemical explosion rose over Tianjin Monday evening, just two months after massive explosions shook the north China port city.

The explosion took place exactly two months after the twin blasts which were stated to be worst industrial disaster in China’s modern history in which 173 people were killed. No casualties were reported in the blast last night and the fire is under control now, it said in a brief report.
The latest explosion quickly became a trending topic on Sina Weibo, the country’s most popular microblog, racking up 250,000 searches by early morning Tuesday.
Tianjin had been ordered after the August blasts to perform thorough checks to eliminate workplace hazards, with a special focus on warehouses storing chemical compounds. At the weekend 17 people were killed in Anhui province when a gas canister blew up at a restaurant.
It said the incident posed no hazardous risks to people or the environment.
Investigations into the blasts at the Ruihai global Logistics warehouses showed they were located closer to homes than permitted, and stored much more hazardous material than authorised, including 700 tons of highly toxic sodium cyanide.

State media said that well-connected company executives had illegally flouted residential zoning regulations to set up their chemical storage facility.
