Blessing of the Animals is Saturday
After the service is over, Morrow moves out to the courtyard to bless the animals, and because the event is in honor of St. Francis, Morrow gives each pet a St. Francis medal. Water bowls and pet treats will be provided.

“Around 80% of people who live with companion animals consider them to be a member of the family, and this unique service gives us the opportunity to gather as complete families to give thanks for our lives with them”. Pet owners and caretakers are invited to bring their pets and gather on the Adams Street sidewalk for a brief order of worship.

In recognition of the commemoration day of St. Francis of Assisi, St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 207 Adams St., Port Clinton, will hold a Blessing of the Pets Rite at 6;15 p.m. Saturday. Special blessings will be given to the Greenville Police department K-9 unit and the outreach ministry of Greenville County Animal Care.
