Blind: There’s more to come from United
“That is new and we won today and hopefully we can win more”.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has dedicated the club’s Community Shield victory to his predecessor Louis van Gaal and to the seven players who were absent from the matchday squad.
Speaking after United’s 2-1 win over Leicester City in the Community Shield at Wembley, Mourinho told BT Sport: “It’s wonderful that such a good player is with us”.
“For our team, there’s something big going on and we’re in the beginning and we begin with a trophy – it’s a good start”, said the former Malmo, Ajax, Inter Milan, Barcelona and Juventus star. Both teams are standing together and you can win another prize [in the Community Shield], so we’re happy.
Lingard enjoyed a promising season under Louis van Gaal in 2015-16 and scored the winning goal in the FA Cup final – a match which proved to be the Dutch manager’s last in charge of the club. There is a very good basement and now we have to build the ground floor.
“It feels incredible to win the first official game”, Ibrahimovic told MUTV.
“I need to take off the smallest player because we were expecting a lot of long balls. Before the match I asked for 120% and they gave me 120%”.
But having seen the 23-year-old score two goals in as many Wembley appearances for United, Owen believes Lingard has made a good case for himself ahead of the season’s opener. I don’t know if they put water on and the atmosphere killed the water immediately or if they forgot to do it but the reality is it was very slow.

“They brought an intensity to the game which was hard for us to cope with”, he added. The club, outside the team, is probably the biggest club I’ve ever played in. “We begin with a trophy”. We played against a good team.
