Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine broke with his running mate Hillary Clinton over her comment that some Trump supporters are “irredeemable”.
“I am the only candidate in this race who has been part of the hard decisions to take terrorists off the battlefield”, Clinton said touting her experience leading the state department.
“I have sat at that table in the Situation Room”.
“I want to start by offering my full support to our state, local and federal law enforcement as they continue to respond to the attacks in New York, New Jersey and Minnesota and bring those responsible to justice”, she said.
Trump also said he believed there was a foreign connection to the attack.
Authorities arrested 28-year-old Ahmad Rahami on Monday in connection with a series of bombs planted in NY and New Jersey over the last three days.
Both presidential candidates have been quick to weigh in on the attacks.
Trump saw a 16.5 percentage-point increase in backing from African-American voters in a Los Angeles Times/University of Southern California tracking poll, up from 3.1 percent on September 10 to 19.6 percent through Friday.
Trump, who has based much of his campaign message on arguing that the United States is no longer safe and that he alone can protect the nation, told Fox News on Monday morning that he expects more attacks. We’re being very gentle about it. We better get very, very tough.
“We will not turn on each other or undermine each other”, she said.
Ahmad Rahami, 28, a US citizen who immigrated from Afghanistan, allegedly set off a bomb that injured 29 people in Manhattan and was captured on Monday. That was before authorities had publicly said so.
Donald Trump said that most of the upcoming presidential debates would be rigged against him.
She insinuated that Islamic militants, particularly those affiliated with ISIS, are rooting for Trump to win the White House.
The GOP nominee said current anti-terrorism efforts are insufficient at home and overseas.
Clinton gave away her “strong card” in back-and-forth with Trump. Trump announced plans to meet with Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sissi on Monday.
