Blue Bell begins test runs, moooves closer to shelves
It’s an impressive turnaround for the “little creamery in Brenham”. “Today our machines cranked up and we began evaluating our enhanced production processes”, read a tweet from the company’s account. Finally, Blue Bell’s president and CEO Paul Kruse pulled all Blue Bell products off the market on April 20. Three of the patients in Kansas died.

There is still no firm timetable for Blue Bell to be sold to the public again.
Ice cream produced will be closely monitored and tested. In response to an email inquiry, spokeswoman Jenny Van Dorf said, “We hope to resume production there [Sylacauga] before the end of the month, but have not confirmed a date at this time”.
No word yet on if or when production will resume at the Broken Arrow plant.

Blue Bell, based in Brenham, Texas, announced earlier this month that test production would begin so it could “confirm that new procedures, facility enhancement and employee training have been effective”, according to a statement. Blue Bell issued its first recall in 108 year history earlier this week after its products were linked to Listeria cases in four states. There’s still no telling when the ice cream will actually be back on the shelves. However, the devotees who are already making space in their freezers should probably calm down.
