North Texas fans of Blue Bell ice cream continue to wait for word on when the frozen treat will return to Big D.
In April, Blue Bell voluntarily recalled all of its products after some were linked to 10 cases of listeriosis.
Blue Bell said it would announce flavors via its Instagram account.
Blue Bell said it has notified the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, as well as state health officials in Alabama and Texas, of its plan to re-enter select markets on a limited basis.
August 31: Blue Bell products scheduled to return to shelves in some areas.
Plenty of people have been noticing the company’s trucks on the road around Houston and Texas, stoking interest in the ice cream which has been MIA for most of the year.
“I don’t think it’s going to impact the stores too much because of the convenience of where we are located”, Scott said.
Blue Bell recalled all of its ice cream products and halted production earlier this summer after listeria contamination.
Dylan Mowrey, business sophomore, said he thinks if other stores in Texas stock Blue Bell, DHFS should sell the ice cream on campus.

May 7: Inspection documents show evidence that listeria and unsanitary conditions at Blue Bell’s Broken Arrow plant went as far back as 2013. “I don’t think I can substitute another brand of ice cream with Blue Bell”.
