The Houston Astros (56-49) need 14 innings to beat the Toronto Blue Jays (59-47) 2-1 in the opener of their four-game series.

He is likely already owned in deeper/serious leagues after making a very impressive debut Tuesday, striking out eight over 4.1 one-hit innings of relief, but if he is still available on waivers, now is the time to grab him in mid-sized leagues.

The addition of Liriano to the rotation will enable the Blue Jays to transition right-hander Aaron Sanchez (11-1, 2.71 ERA) to the bullpen.

Houston got its ninth walk-off win this season – with Correa driving in the winning run for the fifth time – and 14th overall with its last at-bat.

“We have been in an offensive lull for a few games now”, Houston manager A.J. Hinch said. My knuckleball velocities have been great, and I have been able to change speeds a lot. He’s not trying to yank into the Crawford Boxes….

Tulo will be available as a pinch hitter, though the team would prefer to give him the day off. He also had a single in the game. Perhaps he is the missing piece the Blue Jays have been searching for in their bullpen?

“It was probably good that it was a tight situation there because you can kind of get caught up in the moment”, said Barnes, who learned of his promotion at 1:40 a.m. “This is obviously a day that I’ll never forget. That’s what happens when guys throw like they do”.

One fan even joked that Hilow distracted her Houston team, potentially costing them the win. He went 1 for 4.

Russell Martin tied the score with a leadoff homer in the ninth against Astros closer Will Harris, who has blown three of his last five save chances.

“We’re just going to follow protocol, I’m doing what the trainers say and talking to docs”.

Toronto Blue Jays’ Josh Donaldson (20) celebrates a solo home run, his second of the night, against the Houston Astros during the sixth inning of a baseball game Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, in Houston.

Astros starter Doug Fister gave up four hits with one walk and eight strikeouts in six scoreless innings.

Dickey (8-12) allowed one run on six hits with five strikeouts.

“When I get out there he said he had a little bit of elbow discomfort at that point I didn’t ask a lot of questions”.

After acquiring Francisco Liriano from the Pittsburgh Pirates at the trade deadline, it sounds like the 32-year-old left-hander could make his Blue Jays debut this Friday against the Kansas City Royals. The Blue Jays optioned INF Ryan Goins and RHP Bo Schultz to Buffalo.

Blue Jays: RHP R.A. Dickey (7-12, 4.66 ERA) gets the ball for the Blue Jays on Tuesday looking for his first win since July 10.

A half inning later would prove scary for the Astros as Lance McCullers (6-5) would leave the game with two outs in the fifth because of discomfort in his right elbow.
