Blue moon? Friday’s celestial event comes with a catch
This week’s full moon technically took place Friday morning, but the moon will look plenty complete when you look up in the night sky.

Get ready for a very rare event tonight – a blue moon.
This “third full moon in a season with four full moons” definition for blue moon was still being used routinely by the Maine Farmers’ Almanac into the 1800s and 1900s.
The most recent blue moon that was truly blue in hue was in Edinburgh, Scotland, in September 1950.
Unlike a blood moon, which recently had doomsday prophecies attached to it, the blue moon could be good for you, astrologically speaking.
Every single calendar year comprises of an extra number of around 11 days, owing to the disparity between lunar and solar years.
Even so, “on rare occasions, the moon can turn [the color] blue”, according to the NASA video.
When the full moon appeared at 6:43 a.m. Friday, it became the second full moon of July. This second in a month, so I interpret it, was called Blue Moon.
Well, it’s the full moon.
Frankly, this “modern” definition of blue moon is far easier to track!
This cosmic event is unprecedented – it’s truly a month of transitions.
Moons can sometimes appear blue due to ash in the atmosphere from volcanic eruptions or wildfires. Soon after the sun shone the next morning, a rainbow welcomed us in Sunamganj.

Fans at The SandLot and select parties throughout the country will also have the chance to sample the specialty Blue Moon 20th Anniversary Ale, which has limited availability. Nevertheless, the Planetary Society of India informed that the moon will grasp its entirely illuminated stage at 4.13 pm only.
