Blues go back to goalie Brian Elliott for Game 6
The Sharks are trying to advance to the Stanley Cup finals for the first time. Which has happened never. The Sharks have been money at home, and they should be able to close this thing out.

On Wednesday evening, the San Jose Sharks and St. Louis Blues will play Game 6 of their series in San Jose.
With their win on Monday, the Sharks have set a franchise high for their most playoff victories.
“He’s struggled this series”, coach Ken Hitchcock said.
The sequence began with three minutes left in the second period. And the St. Louis Blues are one of the few teams that can truly appreciate what they’ve endured.
Joel Ward had two goals of his own, proving that his reputation as a clutch playoff performer is all it’s cracked up to be.
The Sharks power play made its triumphant return. Jake Allen also, did not provide the continued spark that he gave the Blues in Game 4. His nine assists tie him for second among defensemen and seven even strength points tie him for third.
It was the fifth time during the postseason that the Sharks have bounced back from a defeat to score a win. Pavelski would also score the game-winner for the Sharks in the third period. “It’s one of those deals where you just hope it hits you”. The numbers provide backing to what our eyes already told us: Thornton didn’t get better this postseason, the Sharks did. “It’s more about what we have to do”.
Monday, that meant two handsome Pavelski goals in just 103 attractive seconds.
San Jose will have their eyes on the Stanley Cup final as the team heads home for Game 6 of the Western Conference finals. It meant that the Blues visibly sagged.
Every time the Sharks have played a stinker… They spent extended time in their offensive zone.
Meanwhile, Jones stumbled a little between the pipes for San Jose early on in this one – allowing three goals on the first 13 shots he faced.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, St. Louis is now in a very hard spot.
The Sharks haven’t won a title since they come into existence. Possibly the main reason why his teams that qualify for the playoffs tend to make deep runs. It’s like taking the best day of your life, and putting it on your legs. NOTE: I was going to put the video for that Pine Rickard’s commercial – the one where he says “take the best day of your life, and put it in your mouth.” – that I was referencing, but apparently humanity sucks and there’s no record of it anywhere. We wanted a better effort tonight.
The result: a resounding 6-3 win that looked awfully reminiscent of their Game 5 victory over the Kings in round one. “Sometimes you might not get this chance in your career, or maybe once”. I think guys know that. I really did just take fifteen minutes searching up empty-net goals and compiling them onto a YouTube playlist.
Captain Pavelski had the last word as the dressing room cleared.

“There’s so many emotions throughout the playoffs”, Pavelski said. You put out your stick and not deflect the puck too high or too low. It paid off for one game, but backfired when he tried to double down with Allen against the Sharks’ relentless offensive attack, which was much better in Game 5.
