“It was the script”, she added of getting involved.

There’s also a lot of gun fire in the flick, with the British beauty insisting she has a good aim. Even things as simple as watching Emily Blunt smoking a cigarette on the balcony shot from behind a lacy curtain are simply lovely to watch.

Speaking to this week’s edition of Radio Times magazine, the 32 year-old star described parenthood as “overwhelming” in a new interview with the title. “It’s one of those things, I’m having more fun now than the day I met her, and it’s pretty wild”. She is, in my opinion, a perfectly balanced female character. Federal Bureau of Investigation agent Kate Macer (Emily Blunt) and her partner Reggie Wayne (Daniel Kaluuya) are taken in for a debrief, but Kate is duly recruited for a new mission claiming to be about finding those responsible.

Emily Blunt and husband John Krasinski seemed unaffected by all the attention her “American citizen” remark caused as they enjoyed a date night on Thursday. Discussing her relationship with the city she added: ‘It’s complicated! She played in a series of romantic dramas, My Sister’s Sister, The Five-Year Engagement and Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, before there was a move to more action-orientated affairs with Looper and then in 2014 opposite Tom Cruise in Edge of Tomorrow.

She said: ‘It changes you infinitely in a rather overwhelming way.

“I have a lot of Brit friends in Los Angeles”.

“But I sometimes feel that we can exacerbate the problem by talking about it more”.

‘I hate that it’s a one-industry town and that the quest for success emanates from every corner of it. It can be suffocating in a few ways. Anyway, I thought it might be interesting to see stars Emily Blunt and Benecio Del Toro together again after costarring in 2010’s The Wolfman.

“This is what I find difficult about talking about my marriage: It’s hard to sum up something that’s so vital and means everything to you in a sound bite”, she said. Everybody in the audience knows who Del Toro’s and Brolin’s characters are from the get-go, and the fact that Kate is so slow to pick up on everything reduces the amount I can care about her.

However, living the Hollywood dream isn’t always straight-forward – especially, she says, when so much focus is placed on gender. “She told me to steal a few seeds from the garden centre once and I was caught and had to take them back and apologise”.
