As the pre-debut marketing campaign continues for the 2017 BMW 5 Series ahead of its launch, the company has revealed a new feature of the vehicle – Remote View 3D.
BMW has published a short promotional video on its social media channels to preview its Remote 3D View technology.
How? BMW is taking the expertise which it has built up with the electric models and applying to mainstream production cars. The new technology will use the car’s integrated 360-degree camera, which will provide information to the driver about the car’s surroundings. Some rumors claim we’ll see it next month at the Paris Auto Show, while others believe BMW will introduce the new 5 in October at a private event, and show it to the public the following month during the Los Angeles Auto Show.
The current 5 Series was first introduced in 2010, making it not only one of the oldest vehicles in its class but also one of the oldest models BMW now produces.
Meanwhile, expect more teasers to create more buzz prior to the 5 Series’ much-awaited debut in sedan guise, with the wagon (Touring) to arrive next year and followed by the oddball Gran Turismo.

Rumours suggest the next-generation 5 Series will be offered with a range of three- four-, six- and eight-cylinder engines, likely teamed to turbochargers.
