BMW 520d M Sport Launched At Rs 54 Lakh

The 520d M Sport comes with visual enhancements over the regular 5 series.

The model is to be locally built at BMW’s plant in Chennai, and continues to be powered by the same 190hp 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine as the standard 520d. This comes with a new 18-inch alloy wheels with double spoke design and a very powerful air inlets at the front for optimised airflow, side skirts with additional contour lines, while completing the package are the dark chrome exhaust pipe tips and a striking dark shadow metallic coloured diffuser which can easily extracts anyone’s attention.

BMW 520d M sport highlights with the M badge on the front fenders and adaptive LED headlamps. The upholstery’s exclusive character is underlined by high-grade materials and contrasting seams. The only noticeable change in the interior is the M multifunction steering wheel. The aluminium hexagon interior trim strip and BMW Individual headliner Anthracite add an atheltic note.

Powering the new 520d M Sport is a 1,995cc, four-cylinder, turbocharged engine that produces 187.4bhp and 400Nm of torque. A run from 0 to 100 km/hr takes 7.7 seconds, and top speed is pegged at 233 km/hr. At any time, in any gear, the transmission collaborates perfectly with the engine, enabling it to develop its full power and efficiency. The engine is paired to an eight-speed Steptronic automatic gearbox with paddle shifters behind the steering wheel.

The new 520d M Sport features a multi-function instruument display along with a 10.1 inch infotainment display with BMW’s i-drive system.

BMW offers six airbags, rear view camera, park distance control, hill descent control, Dynamic Stability Control and various other safety features. The auto also gets a multifunction instrument display, BMW iDrive with 10-inch colour display and Navigation system Professional with 3D maps (integrated Global Positioning System-GPS), BMW apps, Park Distance Control, rearview camera and connectivity through Bluetooth and USB devices. Currently BMW assembles the 520d and 530d variants at its Chennai facility while the 520i is a CBU.
