BNP Paribas SA named Frederic Janbon to head up asset management, returning the former chief of fixed-income operations to a leadership role after a stint as special adviser.
Janbon has been head of global fixed income at the firm from 2005 until the end of past year. He will be responsible for accelerating the development of BNP Paribas Investment Partners into a benchmark player in institutional asset management and client service, according to the company.
Mr. Marchessaux was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BNP Paribas Investment Partners back on February 2009 and has been an active member of BNP Paribas Investment Partners’ Executive Committee since 2004.
BNP Paribas chief executive Jean-Laurent Bonnafé says: “BNP Paribas Investment Partners is a key business for the BNP Paribas Group, both in terms of serving our institutional clientele and providing savings and investment solutions to individual retail customers”.
“This business is very much part of our growth strategy”, Bonnafe said in the statement.
