After Youngstown State was set to lose a close one and their playoff hopes against North Dakota State, Pelini decided he had enough with officiating and let the refs really hear it.

In reality, he should have take his anger out on his offense that went completely silent in the fourth quarter.

Youngstown State coach Bo Pelini’s team drew two unsportsmanlike penalties in the final minutes of a 27-24 loss to North Dakota State on Saturday. During this possession, Pelini was twice called for an unsportsmanlike penalty.

Pelini took issue with a pass interference call on cornerback Kenneth Durden.

The Bison got the ball back on their own 46 yard line with 5:26 remaining.

NDSU’s leading rusher was Anderson with 67 yards on four carries.

“He’s been putting nice balls out there”, head coach Chris Klieman said about Stick after the game. For Kennedy, that field goal was his 18th of the season, which broke YSU’s single-season record.

Two plays later, Stick scored the go-ahead TD. NDSU freshman kicker Cam Pedersen added a 40-yard field goal with 9:57 to play to set the stage for the winning drive.

Both defenses held steady for the rest of the first and into the second quarter before the Bison got on the board. Stick connected with RJ Urzendowski on a 41-yard completion to the YSU six, and, four plays later, Stick dove in from fourth-and-goal from the YSU one.

Saturday’s win showed Bison fans Stick is more than up for the task he’s been given.
