Board to decide on Pistorius’ early release
It is unclear when Oscar Pistorius will be released from Kgosi Mampuru II Prison in Pretoria should he be granted parole.

Pistorius had been due to be placed under house arrest on August the 21st – after serving a sixth of his five-year sentence for killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in 2013.
Justice Minister Michael Masutha appealed the decision because he believed the decision to release the athlete under correctional supervision was made prematurely. His parole hearing was conducted before he had served six months.
A spokeswoman for the Pistorius family, Annelise Burgess, said the family could not comment as it had not yet received official word from the parole review board.
The review board met two weeks ago in Durban to re-consider the parole of a number of inmates, but as they could not complete their roll, Pistorius’ matter, among others, stood down to Monday.
The Correctional Services Department is yet to confirm this latest development.
At a globally televised trial he argued that he had mistaken Steenkamp for a burglar.
The paralympian was jailed a year ago for culpable homicide for shooting dead his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
Oscar Pistorius will stay in jail after a decision to grant him parole was again delayed today, his lawyer told AFP this afternoon.

Even if he is freed from prison and placed under house arrest, Pistorius could find himself back behind bars for a minimum of 15 years if an appeal by prosecutors next month is successful.
