He is the son of former San Francisco 49ers CEO, Peter Harris, family members said.

‘This was a young man who was real, sincere, a great listener, always interested, warm, full of humor with the attendant laughter, who sincerely loved and prized family, ‘ Peter Harris wrote. “He was killed early this morning in a wasteful and tragic event while a passenger in a boat that was hit near Catalina”.
Of the three injured, two were described as having minor injuries and the other sustained a head injury.
Peter Harris was CEO of the 49ers from 2000 to 2004.
“After more than 10 hours of cumulative search efforts by the Coast Guard and our partner agencies, the Coast Guard made the hard decision to suspend the search”, said Cmdr. According to a press release from the Coast Guard, all three were taken by helicopter to the UCLA Medical Center. One of the victims is also Harris’s girlfriend Kelly Wells, according to the Harris family.
Coast Guard spokesperson SondraKay Kneen told KTTV that one of the boats involved was a dinghy with five people on board, including Michael Harris.

A Coast Guard spokeswoman said a bystander reported the man swept off the beach around 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
