The Coast Guard said it was the boat Austin Stephanos and Perry Cohen, both 14 years old, were last seen on Friday.

The long-time fishing buddies were last seen buying fuel for the open-top boat which has a single engine and a canopy to protect them from the Sunday.

Based on a social media posting by the boys, authorities believed they were headed toward the Bahamas, but they typically do not go farther than 200 to 300 feet from the marina, he said.

US coast guard aircraft spotted the upturned boat after covering more than 25,000 square miles of ocean in the search for the boys.

They think the teens were just joking.

Cohen’s family lives right across from the water, his mom, Pamela, said. The Coast Guard Cutters Margaret Norvell and the Paul Clark are also searching with the assistance of the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office. “Perry has been on about since he was seven”. ‘”And knowing there’s nothing you can really do to help them”.

Cohen and Stephanos are both watermen and frequent fishers who have been growing up around boats.

Sunday, NFL legend Joe Namath joined the families of the boys at a press conference where they appealed to the public for any information leading to the safe return of the boys. Perry is just as sharp as can be.

“We’ll keep on looking until we find them”, the Super Bowl-winning quarterback said.
