Bobbi Kristina Brown’s Boyfriend Found ‘Legally Responsible’ For Her Death

The 22-year-old aspiring actress – who was the daughter of Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston – tragically passed away in 2015, six months after being found unresponsive in her bathtub, and a judge has now ruled her former fiancé is legally responsible after he failed to show at two civil wrongful death hearings.

In October, Gordon was sued for allegedly causing Brown’s death by injecting her with “a toxic cocktail rendering her unconscious and then putting her face down in a tub of cold water causing her to suffer brain damage” after a violent fight, according to the complaint.

It was the second time he had failed to make an appearance in relation to the case and Judge T Jackson Bedford said that because of this anything alleged by the plaintiff was admitted through omission. “Our investigation will encompass all relevant facts and circumstances, including the body and content of the civil action holding Nick Gordon civilly responsible for the death of Bobbi Kristina Brown”.

The station also reports a jury will determine how much money will be awarded to Brown’s conservator.

As a result, Gordon was found in contempt of the order and the judgment was made “by default”, reported CNN.

He told People magazine in a statement: “I am pleased with the outcome of today’s court proceedings”. The only thing left to prove is the value of her life. The public must understand that even though the judge found Gordon legally responsible, he has not been charged for his girlfriend’s death. The Brown estate had filed a lawsuit for $50 million in damages.

“In court today, we finally finished a long journey for justice for Bobbi Kristina Brown”, Brown’s estate attorney R. David Ware said outside of court.

“It’s not a criminal case but it doesn’t have to be”, Ware said.

Gordon, when reached by phone after the ruling, told CNN he had no comment. “Now I need to process all the emotions I have and lean on God to get me and my family through this”. The family wanted the court to establish that Gordon was responsible for the woman’s injuries that came before her death.
