Judge T. Jackson Bedford said of Gordon, who had elected to represent himself in the case: ‘I do not like people thumbing their nose at the court’.

The daughter of Bobby Brown and Houston, she was Bobby’s fifth child and the only daughter of Whitney. She died about six months later in hospice care.

The New Jersey native was thrust into the spotlight when her mother was found dead in a hotel bathroom on February 11, 2012, the night before the Grammy Awards. Police found Brown face down and unresponsive in a filled bathtub in her home near Atlanta.

The suit claims that 15 minutes after that, Gordon let the water out of the tub and tried to revive Brown, saying “Wake up” as he performed CPR. He will not be facing criminal charges though. An autopsy found drugs in Brown’s system but labeled her cause of death “undetermined”.

The judge will now determine the amount of damages to be awarded to Bobbi Kristina’s estate.

“In court today, we finally finished a long journey for justice for Bobbi Kristina Brown”, Bobbi Kristina’s attorney R. David Ware told 11 Alive. She was pronounced dead July 26.

‘He is legally responsible for her death, and the only thing left for us to prove is the value of her life, ‘ a lawyer for Bobbi Kristina’s estate said outside the courthouse Friday morning. “We want to legally establish he was responsible for her injuries the proceeded her death and we’ve done that today”.

‘And we intend to do that’.
