The iconic singer was found by medical experts to have died of an accidental drowning, although drug use was said to be a contributing factor to her ill-health.

Ironically, the former couple’s only child, Bobbi Kristina, was also discovered unresponsive in the bath at her Georgia home in January, 2015.

But on January 31 previous year, Bobbi, then 21, was discovered face down in her Georgia townhouse and died six months later.

Brown opened up about his wife and his daughter, Bobbi Kristina, in an 20/20 interview with United States television broadcaster Robin Roberts. “We should have been better”, Brown said in the interview, according to a press release.

Brown also told Roberts that after Houston’s death in 2012, Brown and their daughter – Bobbi Kristina – became estranged.

“I know”, the 47-year-old tells Us Weekly of Houston’s relationship with Crawford, 55.

When Roberts clarifies that Brown was speaking of Gordon, the singer responded, “I won’t say his name”.

Fighting back tears in the TV special, Brown says there is only one person who was around on both occasions.

A year before calling it quits, Houston, Brown and their daughter appeared on Being Bobby Brown, a reality docu-series about their lives, which aired for one season on Bravo.

In his new memoir, Every Little Step I Take, Brown writes that he saw her “hunched over a bureau snorting a line of cocaine”. He also reveals that he and Whitney could have done a better job with raising BK.”We could have been better”.

“Let’s get one thing straight: crack is cheap”, Houston said at the time.

Houston offered Brown a hit, he claims, but he didn’t indulge.

“He knows what happened”.

“The defendant ignores this Court’s mandates but freely discusses his role in the incident which led to the horrific injuries to Decedent Bobbi Kristina Brown on public television”, she stated.

“It wasn’t me who started her”, he insisted. He disputes reports that he was responsible for Houston’s drug problems and harshly criticizes her family and others around her for keeping him from their daughter. “I only wish he had loved and respected her enough to make some of the negative statements about her and Krissi while Whitney was alive and able to respond from her perspective”. I know what I am.
