Bobby Brown, former husband of the late Whitney Houston performs at Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Conn. Brown is scheduled to turn himself in today, March 20,2013 to begin serving a 55-day jail sentence for DUI.

Brown actually signed the contract for his memoir over a year ago-shortly before daughter Bobbi Kristina was found face-down in her bathtub, slipped into a six-month coma, and passed away. She died shortly after, with the cause of death ruled accidental drowning due to intoxication. Her death is now being investigated.
“I hope my fans and other readers of this book will be entertained by this trip into the insane, exciting, fascinating world of Bobby Brown”, Brown added.
My Prerogative will be published by Dey Street Books, who call the project “raw and unvarnished”.
“‘My Prerogative’ is the story of a man who has been on the top of the mountain and in the depths of the valley and who is now finally ready to talk about his career and family life, from the passion and the excess to his creative inspirations and massive musical success”, the publisher’s statement read. Dey Street Books said he found working on the book after losing his 22-year-old daughter “therapeutic”, providing him with an outlet for his pain.
“His music, both with New Edition and in his incredible solo career, defined an era, but his life – full of epic highs, wild romance, and crushing lows- has been the subject of endless speculation and debate”, Oswald said in a statement.
More than just a form of entertainment, however, writing the memoir-which was arranged before Bobbi Kristina’s death-has been healing for the singer.
Financial terms for the book were not disclosed.
But he is also known for his tumultuous time with Houston, to whom he was married from 1992 to 2007, his run-ins with the police and his struggles with drugs and alcoholism.

Many people blame Brown for her drug use, which was a contributing factor to her untimely death in February 2012. Nor has he commented on Gordon, with whom he has a fraught relationship. The couple’s misadventures were portrayed on a Bravo reality show, Being Bobby Brown, which ended after one season when Houston wouldn’t agree to a second.
