Body found in search for man wanted in girl’s death

Anne Arundel County police say two men and a woman broke into a Sprint store at the Marley Station Mall in Glen Burnie, Maryland. “It seems like there was some type of a verbal altercation that started, and during that verbal altercation, the suspect picked up a knife”, said Anne Arundel County Police spokesman Ryan Frashure. Frashure later, after confirming the body was indeed that of Garcia, said that it appeared he had been dead for some time, and that evidence pointed to the death as being a suicide. This will determine the exact cause and manner of her death. The boy was taken to Johns Hopkins Pediatric Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities in Maryland are looking for an 18-year-old man they say stabbed two young relatives at a Glen Burnie home, killing a 10-year-old girl and wounding a 13-year-old boy.

A vigil was held Thursday night in the 6400 block of Roots Drive in Glen Burnie, near the crime scene, to pray for the family of the victims.

The siblings were stabbed Monday after a family dispute escalated, according to cops. Police have not released the girl’s name.

When they arrived they found the girl and boy “suffering from apparent trauma”.

Maneka Monk, an Anne Arundel County Public Schools spokeswoman, confirmed the identity.

Prior to Friday’s discovery of Garcia’s body, he had been facing charges of murder, assault and reckless endangerment. This is the 11th homicide in Anne Arundel County this year, police said. Investigators ask anyone who knows the location of Garcia to call 911; he is considered a violent suspect.
