A West Covina man was arrested on suspicion of murder and the family of a missing dancer wants to know if this arrest is connected to their search.
Reyes’ vehicle was found with its engine running and his wallet and laptop computer inside in the 1500 block of McWood Street in West Covina, causing family members to fear something had happened to him, family friend Ronda Hampton said.
Police Friday announced an arrest in the disappearance of 27-year-old Rahkeem Reyes but didn’t offer details. His abandoned vehicle was found later that day – the engine still running, with his personal items inside, according to the Facebook page.
Reyes, a professional dancer, was last known to be with Wade before he disappeared, Hampton said.
West Covina police said bail for Philip Von Wade – who is scheduled to be arraigned Monday – has been set at $1 million.
Police are still trying to determine a motive in the case and the relationship between the two men.
Family friend Ronda Hampton told the San Gabriel Valley Tribune Reyes’ auto was found running and all of his belongings, including his laptop, wallet and other items were inside.

“We are deeply heart broken”. The police are also asking that anyone with information regarding the death of the professional dancer contact the West Covina police at 626-939-8500 or submit tips anonymously to L.A.
