Body of missing Manchester woman found in apartment crawl space

A body police say is a Manchester, New Hampshire woman who had been missing since September was discovered stashed behind a false wall in a closet in the woman’s apartment on Saturday – the victim of a roommate who prosecutors now believe killed her before fleeing and killing himself.

According to a news release from New Hampshire Senior Assistant Attorney General Jeffrey Strelzin, Manchester police and firefighters responded to 196A Calef Road, Manchester, where Sue Hutchinson and Stephen Andrade lived, for a report from Hutchinson’s relatives of a odd odor coming from her apartment.

Hutchinson’s family called 911 about the smell last night, they said.

Andrade had been dating Hutchinson’s daughter until very recently.

Hutchinson’s roommate also went missing in September.

Andrade was last seen the night after Hutchinson disappeared, driving her silver 2005 BMW 5-series sedan, which was found at Gold’s Gym’s parking lot in Merrimack on Monday.

Hutchinson’s 1992 Buick Century was found on Wyoming Avenue just a few blocks from her home a few days after her disappearance.

Detectives removed the wall panel and discovered an adult female’s body concealed in the crawl space.

Foster and Manchester Police Chief Enoch F. Willard said in a joint statement this morning that an autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow to make a positive identification.
