A new, strengthened regional force is due to deploy against Boko Haram by the end of this month.

The attacks show no signs of slowing while Boko Haram continues to terrorize Nigeria and neighboring Chad.

The total includes the suicide bomber – a man dressed in a woman’s burqa. The Chadian government blamed Boko Haram for these attacks.

“Our current count is 15 dead”, police spokesman Paul Manga, said, a total which included the suicide bomber.

The spokesperson added most of those killed were women.

An AFP correspondent there described a gruesome scene of pools of blood and human flesh.

From June 30 to July 5 alone, more than 200 people were killed in similar ambushes near villages or during suicide bombings, according to the BBC. Since then, authorities in the central African country have made at least 60 arrests and raided an arms cache in an effort to dismantle Boko Haram’s networks. Buni Yadi was reclaimed by the Nigerian army in March this year from Boko Haram. The group has declared allegiance to Islamic State, which has declared an Islamic caliphate in territory it controls in Iraq and Syria.

“The two terrorists approached the gate in their tricycle (motorised rickshaw) but could not have their way because of the heavy security presence”, said bus driver Mohammed Kabir.

The group, which has been pushed out of captured towns across Nigeria’s northeast by a four-nation coalition since February, are said to be dispersed in remote parts of the hard-to-reach region.

The victims were shot as they fled from the village, Ngamdu, as mentioned by a local police official.

A Med-View Airline flight with 82 passengers on board, including the Borno State governor Kashim Shettima, touched down at about 2:00 pm (1300 GMT). But there is little evidence so far the move has been effective.

The source, however, claimed that military forces had dislodged the militants from the highway.
